"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.

They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

Hey, Have You Ever Heard of The BCCI?

I didn't think so. Fortunately for us Chris Floyd has.

Glad you're back, Coldie!! Interesting article!!

Gee, what a surprise. The CIA and White House involved in "covert operations." LOL

The fact John Kerry could have uncovered all of this stuff proves, more than ever, he was not the answer and I am glad I supported Ralph Nader.

I hope Jimmy Carter was duped in his involvement in the initial stages and was unaware of its consequences.

Proves more than ever the rich run this country (and the world) while the little guy is left in the dark. I am especially angry about $25 million being used to bail out one of Bush's companies.

No question about it Lefty. In fact, the inadequacies of the Team Bush stimulus package now being bandied about Washington is discussed in some detail over at economist Dean Baker’s blog, the TPM Café. I’d suggest that you delve into the comments section there as well.
