"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.

They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

The Future

In tomorrow's America, the "free-trade" Nirvana in which the republic's last native industry has finally bitten the dust (along with the last unionized workforce) and where the concept of value added labor and the production of things of public utility are as passe as the dodo bird one cannot but marvel at the inextinguishable American ingenuity that manages to bubble to surface and exploit the silver lining in bad situation:

Neither free trade or protectionism, is any pancea, let alone principle. There is a time for both.

Ren Eye I would argue that the time for protectionism is certainly now for sure. "Free trade" has been an utter disaster for American industry. Now, for all intents and purposes, there really is no American industry to speak of and allowing economic rivals (there are no allies in trade) to overwhelm our market with their goods hasn't been to our benefit in the long run. Furthermore, "our" government has helped to subsidize the outsourcing of American jobs as US based corporations scour the globe in the race to the bottom for "workers" (slaves actually) from whom they can demand the most for the least.

Meanwhile the American workers lay in ditches with their throats slit.

American capitalism degenerated, into making money from false capital as buying debt. Modern capitalism is a world system, not held down by the nation/state.

The establishment of the European Union, was an admission, the nation/state is out of date.

Therein lies the problem and must be immediately addressed and reversed. A financial oligarchy is struggling to solidify control out of the current disaster of its own making and here in the US their ace in the hole is none other than the Barockstar. Fortunately his luster is beginning to fade as it becomes apparent, even to liberals, that he's Wall Street's errand boy.

This crap Karl Denninger illustrates is what “capitalism” has come to represent in reality Ren. Somethings going to give or something going to blow.

I added this blog to my blogroll.

The Great Depression was in 1929. The militantcy came around 1934. I expect a bigger explosion than 34.

I certainly agree.

Where is the following information.

* Panahou Academy school records, 5th through 12th grades
* Occidental College records, including financial aid information.
* Columbia University records, including the missing senior thesis and financial aid information.
* Harvard University records, including information on how a student who never wrote anything (that can be found) was elected president of the prestigious law review, and including information on how Harvard Law School was afforded by humble community agitator, Barack Obama.
* Obama’s Illinois state senate records and papers, mysteriously lost.
