"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.
They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

Another great article, Coldie!
The fact Gates is allowed to stay on is only a gimme for Obama. If he fails in the search for Obama then he can blame Bush. He can blame the troop build-up there on Gates. If they succeed, he is a hero.
The pro-war Obama will puzzle many progressives who supported him. Not you or I though, Coldie. We saw throught he half truths. Hopefully the progressives will not blindly follow.

The bloom is off the rose already Lefty. The "progressives" who would accept muzzling weren't progressives to begin with and should simply be ignored. I think of Obama as the logical next step for an empire that has lost its way after eight years of inept rule. Nothing has changed for true progressives, the struggle continues.
