"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.

They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

More expensive than bailing out the financial parasites of Wall Street and subsidizing the war profiteers of the "defense" industry with American blood and treasure to say nothing of innocents slaughtered around the world? Clearly we see things differently.

It was sad to see him go Lefty for he was far and away the most dynamic personality of the Left in all of the Americas. No one else comes even close. Having said that, however, I think this will be an important milestone for the grassroots organizations that Chavez encouraged to develop. If the transfirmation of Venezuela for the mass of people that we've witnessed was no broader or deeper than the force of personality of one man then it isn't real. That will be the true measure of his legacy and the tenacity of the Venezuelan people. Be rest assured that the Venezuelan Right (with a healthy assist from Uncle Sam) is working day and night to put things back in their "proper order" there (e.g everthing of value in as few wealthy hands as possible). Now the real struggle begins.

Just so long as you recognize that this is an opinion and not an argument. I'll patiently wait for the latter.

Aggravated UUW Unconstitutional?
Looks like it might be - and by a Cook County judge no less. From our friend Todd Vandermyde and the people over at IllinoisCarry.com:
•there is a new case I received in the mail today so some of the legal types might want to pul it up and post it here.

People v. Donta Mosley
decided 3/15/13
cook county criminal division
12-CR-5646-01
Judge Michael Brown

20 year old on a AG UUW. Judge says sentencing guide lines require mandatory 1 year, because minor with gun, NO FOID.

But finds that 18, 19 & 20 years olds can't sign for their own FOID and creates due process violation and declares 720 ILCS 5/24-1.6 6(d)(2) unconstitutional.

thy also find the disproportionate penalties and again declares the AGG UUW unconstitutional

WOW

then goes onto say unconstitutional on its face AND as applied

he gets a Class A at the end of it.
The discussion gets rather involved throughout the message board, but a number of people with more info than we have say this has major ramifications for any number of bills currently up for discussion, including Concealed Carry - ramifications that will hinder the gun-grabbers.

Check back with IllinoisCarry.com and the ISRA website for updates as the legislature stumbles through their dog-and-pony show.

And look for a bulletin from Legal Affairs about this - they'll have to address it in short order.

What an interesting question Anon. Since we're in a questioning mood perhaps you will kindly answer a few for me.

How many nations has North Korea invaded and occupied?

What is the only nation on earth to detonate nuclear weapons on civilian targets?

What nation possesses 5,000 nuclear warheads along with the necessary delivery systems yet threatens to primitively attack any nation that it doesn't approve of that dares to develop even one of its own as a deterrent?

What nation launched an illegal attack on Iraq that killed over one million and internally displaced five million more after sponsoring a decade long sanction regime that killed over one million citizens including half a million children?

Which nation sponsored the overthrow of over 30 democratically elected governments in the 20th century?

I look forward to your response.
