"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.

They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

Negotiation Not Imposition

So say the workers of British Airways. Management at BA hoped to use the recession/depression as an opportunity to rape-stomp the workforce but have now run into a bit of a snag. Richard Seymour of Lenin's Tomb fills in the details of this superb worker action.

Thanks for the link, Coldie. I pretty much have a great distaste for all things British. I cheer for the natives when I watch the film, "Zulu."

I was pleased to see the film clip from the Socialist Workers from over there about the strike against the airline.

Unfortunately the Socialist Workers Party here received only about 7500 votes nationwide in the 2008 presidential election.

The Communist Party has not run a presidential candidate in 30 years. In fact this week their newspaper, The Peoples Weekly World, once known as the Daily Worker, ends its print edition and goes completely on-line. A sad state of affairs for progressives.
