"The wealthy, not only by private fraud but also by common laws, do every day pluck and snatch away from the people some part of their daily living. Therefore, when I consider and weigh in my mind these commonwealths which nowadays do flourish, I perceive nothing but a certain conspiracy of rich men in procuring their own commodities under the name and authority of the commonwealth.
They invent and devise all means and crafts, first how to keep safely without fear of losing that which they have unjustly gathered together, and next how to hire and abuse the work and labor of the people for as little money and effort as possible."

Boo!
Fox News is at it again folks. They've dusted off the war drums and have been banging away with an ever increasing tempo as the window of opportunity for assaulting another nation posing no threat to us closes on the disasterous Team Bush administration. As was the case during the lead up to the assault on Iraq, Fox News is braying at the head of the media pack now calling attention to the Iranian "threat" looming over the horizon. There is even speculation that Karl Rove's sudden departure from Team Bush was the result of losing a power struggle with the Prince of Darkness, aka Dick Cheney, who has been pushing hard for war on Iran. Rove, arguably the most intelligent member of Team Bush, was said to be insistent that given our present difficulties in Iraq, an attack on its neighbor--with perhaps four times its population--was sheer madness. It would appear that the Prince has prevailed. And not a moment too soon as far as the war mavens at Fox are concerned.

It doesn't matter, Coldie, the neo-conservatives and their leader in the White House care less about the truth. We are in Iraq until the Commander-in-Chief leaves the Oval Office.
By the way. What do you think about Dennis Kininich's chances? He is largerly ignored by the mass media, even though, I think he has the most to appeal to progressives. Last week ABC news started a poll on its web site and when Kininich started winning they pulled it.

That doesn't suprise me at all. Kucinich is by far the most progressive candidate and for that reason the main-stream corporate media ignores or denigrates him.
Remember, the MSM are mere subsidiaries of major corporations whose primary concern--by law--is the maximization of profits for their shareholders. The MSM are very much apart of the corporate culture in this country and the slant of their "news" reflects this elite bias.
Kucinich is dangerous precisely because his views are in line with popular public opinion on the issues that matter:
-health care;
-tax "relief" for the wealthy;
-the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act of 2006 both of which make a shambles of the Fourth Amendment, the Bill of Rights, and the Geneva Conventions;
-the war OF terror on Iraq;
-the impending war of aggression against Iran;
-"free trade" agreements that destroy organized labor in the US and the sovereignty of victim nations abroad, the list goes on.
The strength of any democracy can be determined by how closely public policy aligns with public opinion. Here in the US, the so called "democracy deficit" is vast for there is virtually no correlation between the actual domestic and foreign policies implimented in Washington [and satifying elite concerns], and what opinion polls indicate are the true wishes of the American public. In short, what we have in America is an entrenched plutocracy, NOT a democracry.
Kucinich aligns himself with the interests of the poor and the middle class in this country--the overwhelming majority--as opposed to the tiny elite who own and run our society. This, quite naturally, makes him unsuitable to lead the nation in the eyes of those who count.

hey Coldie!
Looks like SCC totally ignored the news about the Idaho GOP and the rest room incident. If that had been a democrat he'd been all over it.
Of course. There is no such thing as bad news for the GOP in SCC's fantasy world.
Nice Post and conversation, "boys"... Keep fighting the Good Fight!
SCC- "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil" (as you say, nothing noticed not in his narrow worldview!)
How SAD!
