Looks like things are pretty much working out the way I figured they would now that the Democrats are in charge. I can detect no perceptible reduction in speed as our country hurdles towards the cliff. I still find myself in conversation with people gushing over the new congress and how the Dems are going to put a stop to the maddness in Iraq--all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding. Now I just smile and nod.

I'm sorry if I missed your counterpoint I've been away. I'll check the other threads for your post.
Pay them little heed Lefty. Notice how SCC & Co. fixate on the trivial while the republic is being swallowed whole by the Team Bush proto-fascists, and the blood bath in Iraq continues unabated.
Think about it. The entire world opposes US escalation in Iraq; ditto for most of the US population, Congress, and, most importantly, the Iraqi people, yet the Decider pushes on.
Such a thing would be impossible in a fuctioning democracy but this of course escapes the notice of the super-sleuths at SCC. Don't waste a single minute worrying about what those clowns think. I sure as hell don't. Keep writing.
